DEV-16771 RT1062 Teensy 4.1 Series ARM® Cortex®-M7 MPU Embedded Evaluation Board

Product Description The Teensy 4.1 (MPN: DEV-16771) is a major upgrade to the popular development platform. Powered by an ARM Cortex-M7 processor running at 600MHz (NXP iMXRT1062 chip), it delivers phenomenal computing power combined with expanded connectivity—all within the same compact footprint as the Teensy 3.6 ($2.4 \times 0.7$ inches). This 4.1 version stands out by offering four times more Flash memory than the Teensy 4.0, along with native support for a microSD card, an Ethernet PHY controller, and a USB Host port. Key Features Ultra-High Performance Processor: ARM Cortex-M7 at 600MHz featuring a dual-issue superscalar architecture, allowing it to execute two instructions per clock cycle. Expanded Memory: 1024K RAM (with 512K tightly coupled for ultra-fast single-cycle access) and 8MB Flash memory. Expandability: Two empty pads on the bottom side allow you to solder additional memory chips (PSRAM or QSPI Flash). Advanced Power Management: Supports dynamic clock scaling to change frequencies on the fly without affecting serial baud rates or Arduino timing functions. Features a dedicated On/Off pin to cut the 3.3V power supply. Floating Point Unit (FPU): Complete hardware support for both 32-bit float and 64-bit double calculations. Technical Specifications Microcontroller: NXP iMXRT1062 (Cortex-M7) I/O Pins: 55 total pins (42 are breadboard-friendly) Analog Inputs: 18 channels PWM Pins: 35 channels Network Connectivity: 10/100 Mbit Ethernet (DP83825 PHY) via 6 dedicated pins Communication Interfaces: 3x CAN Bus ports (1 compatible with CAN FD) 8x Serial ports (UART) 3x SPI ports Digital Audio: 2x I2S, 1x S/PDIF Storage: Native microSD card slot (4-bit SDIO) Security: Cryptographic acceleration and hardware random number generator. Real-Time Clock (RTC): Built-in (requires an external coin cell battery connected to the VBAT pin for backup). ⚠️ Important Note: The logic pins on the Teensy 4.1 operate strictly at 3.3V. The inputs are NOT 5V tolerant. Applying any voltage higher than 3.3V to the digital pins can permanently damage the microcontroller. This model is shipped without connectors (headers) pre-soldered.
